Real Madrid Considering Player Swap to Land Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace
As the kickoff of the 2025-2026 season approaches, the transfer market enters its final stretch. While most clubs have already completed their reinforcements, some European giants are still looking for new signings. This is the case for Real Madrid, who remain the subject of numerous rumors about potential arrivals, particularly in midfield, as they aim to compete with FC Barcelona in the title race.
Real Madrid are reportedly keeping a close eye on Adam Wharton, the young Crystal Palace midfielder. In recent weeks, the name of Marc Guehi, the Eagles’ central defender, had been linked to the Spanish club, but Los Blancos’ priority now seems to have shifted to the midfield and Wharton. Real’s scouts have allegedly made several trips to Selhurst Park to monitor his performances.
However, Real Madrid are not alone in the race. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the talented 21-year-old English midfielder. Last May, Tottenham even made inquiries about his situation, but Crystal Palace are believed to have immediately set his price at €118 million.
This interest in Adam Wharton, as well as in Marc Guehi, puts coach Oliver Glasner in a delicate position. After winning the Community Shield against Liverpool on penalties, the Austrian tactician has left some doubt hanging over his own future.
